The concept of Pride Caribe started as a running joke with my relatives back in 2010.  My aunt made me a plate of dhal puri and curry chicken when she visited Maryland from New Jersey.  It was so good that I told her I would buy her a night gown for Christmas that said "Aunty makes the best curry and puri!"  She laughed at me and said "Where yuh gonna find duh? I told her I would make it for her.

 

At the time it was all talk, but the more I thought about it I realized there was no where (at least no where near me) that I could buy a shirt with that message.

Fast forward to 2017....

After traveling to Guyana in 2016 for the 50th Jubilee Celebration and playing mas for the first time at Trinidad Carnival in 2017, I was disappointed that I couldn't find any unique, non-touristy shirts and apparel to capture my experiences or to purchase for relatives.  I decided to fill the gap.

Pride Caribe was birthed from a place of love and deep pride in the Caribbean culture to celebrate the uniqueness and similarities of the Carib nations.

My hope is that you can find the pride, humor, and love in our products.
