Split in De Middle Collection

I created this line in tribute to my family. While our nearest lineage is of Guyanese descent, we have openly embraced the various cultures of the Caribbean and far reaching diaspora. I shared one of our sample design shirts with my 14 year old cousin whose mom is Guyanese and dad is El Salvadorean. She literally screamed with a smile, "OMG, finally some representation!"

No amount of money could ever beat that feeling of knowing I am helping her feel value in her identity.

For those living in the USA, Canada, and beyond how many times did you feel lost or left out when asked to prepare a presentation about your family's culture for school?

I don't know my lineage yeh because slavery, but at least my younger relatives will have a visual aid to help others learn more about our culture. Help the little ones find their identity early by recognizing the good things they are made of.
